Mike Wyrostek had become a widower when he decided to hold an estate sale in preparation for moving out of his five-bedroom home in Naperville to a two-bedroom condo.
He contacted Kim Cosentino of Westmont-based The DeClutter Box to organize the sale, which took place over three days.
Some of his large collection of vintage toys and pottery wasn't purchased at the estate sale so he contacted another company to hold an online auction of those items. At Wyrostek's request, Cosentino arranged for his remaining household goods to be picked up and donated to a women's shelter.
Four years after his estate sale, Wyrostek couldn't be happier with results. "It's so much better to have a professional do it. It takes the emotion out of it," he says. "I was pretty surprised at how much I made."
